Crave Fishbar

Crave Fishbar brought something Midtown East chronically lacked: a seafood restaurant with a conscience and a sense of humor. Sustainably sourced fish, a raw bar that takes itself seriously, and a room that doesn't — driftwood-casual in a neighborhood of expense-account starch.

The weekday oyster happy hour is the headline: dollar-and-change oysters at the bar that draw an after-work crowd smart enough to arrive by 5:30. Beyond that, the lobster roll and whole grilled fish justify a full dinner. A second location serves the Upper West Side, but the 2nd Avenue original keeps the loosest, most neighborhood feel.
